About Us

Boy Scout Troop 77 is chartered by Calvary Baptist Church in Denton, Maryland. Our troop is located in the Choptank District of the Del-Mar-Va Council.

Mission

We serve young men from 11 to 17 years old from Denton, MD and the surrounding communities. Troop 77 strives to provide an environment in which boys can grow intellectually and physically. Instilling the values in the Boy Scout Oath and Law teaches our young men to become outstanding members of the community. Our troop participates in many activities and service projects which emphasize leadership skills through our boy-led program.

Activities

Our troop holds monthly camping trips in our area. Local trips to Crane Baptist Park, owned by our Chartered Organization, Tuckahoe and Martinak State Parks, Assateague and Chincoteague Islands, Cape Henlopen, Antietam and Gettysburg. We have been to local district Scouting events such as the Klondike Derby and Camporees.

Each year we attend a Summer Camp where the scouts work on, and often complete, several Merit Badges during the week. In the past we frequented Henson Scout Reservation, our resident camp. Recently we have tried several camps further away and out-of-state. Henderson Scout Reservation in New York State, Camp Rock Enon in Virginia, and Akridge Scout Reservation in Delaware.
